Membership Guidelines for Participation and Expected Behavior

  1. Be open to participating in H.O.P.S., whether by sharing your experiences, mentoring others, volunteering for events, providing content, pursuing personal or professional growth, providing feedback to administrators about how to improve programs, etc.
  2. SOCIAL MEDIA USE UNDER H.O.P.S.:
    • It is expected that everyone will be treated with dignity and respect always.
    • Conversations should strive to be related to the Hospitality Industry or events hosted by or for H.O.P.S.
    • If site administrators find content posted that is not respectful or is irrelevant, it will be deleted.
  3. SOCIAL EVENTS:
    • It is expected that everyone will be treated with dignity and respect always.
    • If alcohol is consumed at events, ensure you have a plan in place in case you are not able to drive (i.e., designated drive, uber, taxi, etc.)
    • Have respect for the establishment hosting the event, always leave things better than you found them.
  4. QUARTERLY MEETINGS:
    • It is expected that everyone will be treated with dignity and respect always.
    • O.P.S. will strive to always make quarterly meetings timely and efficient, to do that we ask that all members in attendance follow these guidelines:
      • Talk one at a time, not over each other or the facilitator/speaker/presenter
      • Limit side conversations
      • Be patient
      • Stay on topic
      • If you don’t have a chance to speak, submit your question/concern/comment via hopsofficial.com
  5. VOLUNTEERING:
    • If you volunteer to assist H.O.P.S. to ensure you are present when needed and keep communication open.
    • If you are unable to assist after signing up, ensure you let an organizer know.
    • Follow through on actions/items you agree to assist with.

Qualifications for Membership

Individuals

  1. Currently works in or has worked in the Hospitality Industry;
  2. Currently works in or has worked in a career field that has assisted the Hospitality Industry;
  3. New to the Hospitality Industry and seeking education or employment; or
  4. Other, seeking to improve the Hospitality Industry.
  5. Payment of annual due of $30.00

Business

  1. Currently owns or has owned a business relating to the Hospitality Industry;
  2. Currently manages or managed a business relating to the Hospitality Industry;
  3. Currently manages hiring or works in Human Resources for the Hospitality Industry; or
  4. Other business seeking to improve the Hospitality Industry.
  5. Payment of annual due of $60.00
